Due to rapid growth we are looking for a proactive and motivated individual to be a Software Engineer in the AutoGuide Mobile Robot System’s Software group. With a new and expanding portfolio of mobile robots, this role is very tactical at this time to help launch our new platforms, but has tremendous career upside.

AutoGuide Mobile Robots (subsidiary of Heartland Automation Solutions) designs, manufactures and installs the most technically advanced AGVs with one goal in mind: surpassing customers’ expectations. For more than two decades, AutoGuide has provided maximum value to businesses in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations across multiple industries. Working out of the AutoGuide Mobile Robots headquarters in Chelmsford MA, this position involves providing maximum value to businesses in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations across multiple industries. AutoGuide just launched its MAX-N10, the industry’s most reliable and affordable natural feature guidance tugger. Unlike other mobile robots in the market. AutoGuide used its experience in demanding automotive plants to develop and test the rugged MAX-N10 tugger that can handle nearly any environment – regardless of lighting and constant modification. MAX-N10 moves loads up to 10,000 pounds seamlessly with no magnetic tape or RFID tags required, making installation and modification a breeze.


The primary responsibilities for the Software Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Support and debug complex software controlling robotic fleets
  • Support the testing, functional and reliability verification, of our robot systems.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of embedded and application level products.
  • Generate design documentation and test plans for complete system’s level testing.
  • Collect, analyze and report on test data
  • Support field testing

Qualifications and Requirements:

In addition, to be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:

  • B.S. or higher in Software Engineering
  • Strong communication skills. Team player
  • Ability to take on a variety of tasks as needed
  • Ability to overcome obstacles to get the job done. Can do attitude!
  • Variety of skills relating to Software
  • C# preferred language, other programs languages acceptable.
  • Basic electrical and mechanical skills highly desirable
  • Experience in industrial autonomous robotics is desirable
  • Ability to travel to our Georgetown KY plan (~10%), and customer sites (~10%)
